Cause for random nose bleeding?

Question by M4: Cause for random nose bleeding?
I was in art today just walking around trying to find the guillotine, then my nose began to bleed quite heavily I’ve never had an nose bleed but my nose felt wet so I touched it and there was blood on my hand. I couldn’t stop it from bleeding but I just wanted to know the reason for it because it was odd, the temperature hadn’t changed I just started to bleed.
Does anyone know why?
Should I be concerned?

Nose bleeds are caused by blood vessels breaking inside of the nose. This can be caused by nose-picking, dry air, or illness

If this is your first nose bleed more than likely your nasal passage was too dry. If you had a problem with capillaries being too close to the surface of your nasal passages you would be experiencing more nose bleeds. One other area of concern may be your blood pressure. If your blood pressure was too high it could also cause a nose bleed. If your blood pressure is ok, like I said your nasal passage was probably dried out or irritated. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

Could be that your nasal passages are too dry. Try a salt water/saline nasal spray, one without any other chemicals in it. This can be helpful in moisturizing the passages. Do you have headaches with the nose bleeds? This may indicate high blood pressure. You may want to have your blood pressure checked just to be on the safe side. Remember when your nose bleeds to not tilt your head backwards as this will cause the blood to run down your throat and cause nausea. So tilt your head forward and either pinch your nostrils closed or apply an ice pack. The ice causes the blood vessels to restrict and the bleeding should stop.
